Has anyone tried for the AMG look on a Lexus RX350 ? My dad owns the RX350, BUT it has a senior-citizen look. I love how it drives but the look reminds me of a retirement living community.
I've seen images posted here, people who have installed dual exhaust with dual pipes on each muffler, body kits, changing out the stock 18" rims (I have a '10 350 and while I don't mind them, I realize others may consider them dull).
Yup: buy an AMG or something else. It's like complaining that a Civic is too plain and that you think it should look like a race-car, so you stick dual tips, a wing, and a body kit on it. If you want aggressive looks, wheels will make a slight difference, but you're probably just going to end up looking like the SUV-equivalent of a riced-out Civic if you continue.
And those wheels look ghetto.
what year model do you have? the early 3rd gens i can see what your saying but I have a 14 with the sort of meaner looking front, and ive had quite a bit of compliments. keeping it clean, the 19's, the HID's with LED fogs, and window tint make it look good. its no AMG but def not senior citizen looking either.

Front and rear 'Underuns' (Lexus parts) and some aftermarket lights. See the Meteo thread for rears. If you have roof rails take them off (unless you need them).
It's like putting lipstick on a pig. At the end of the day, it will still be a Lexus.
Is this something your Dad would be interested in, or is this your initiative?
I don't recall seeing an AARP application in the glove box I prefer mature myself.
There's plenty of aftermarket kits available for the RX. it would definitely give it a different personality. Re trying to duplicate the AMG look, how about differentiating yourself from the other RXs instead? Not too many people do it so that can easily be accomplished. And I also wonder if this something your dad is on board with the idea. Probably not once he sees the price of the kits. Go small first by changing the wheels or the grill.
If you're going for that aggressive look then definitely get darker color wheels to spruce up the vehicle.
I have a SFP RX and added the dark F Sport wheels, exhaust tip, and Red Meteo LED taillights. This completely changed the vehicle and gives it that nice aggressive look that it badly needed.
Another idea is to get the aluminum looking plates described here. It's only available in Europe. But it's pricey at close to $1,000 for the front and back. Plastic too.

Thats the front and read underuns (as my Lexus dealer refers to them). I have them on mine. Make a big difference aesthetically.
I hear talk every where about how "old folksy" Lexus vehicles look but yet when Lexus introduced the RX 300 it seems like every car maker on the planet copied it and I believe Lexus was the first to add the HD lighting under the headlights, now every car I see has them. Same with the hourglass grill, I see grills on new cars getting bigger and bigger.
Maybe it's just me but I love the Lexus look and I'm not ready for a retirement home just yet.
