Default 2010 Headlight issue

just got my car back from Auto Body Shop... this is what I saw last night driving...

IS there a way to reset the headlights? I would think they put the new ones in and be done... and this is what I ended up with!! Back to the body shop I go...

What was repaired? Did they install new headlights? Do you have HID headlights, the ones that level and follow around turns?

I have the ones that level and follow you around turns... that part works I see them moving but just driving down the road seems TOTALLY off... its even distracting driving looking at all those lines

yes the whole front end was just replaced... 15K later from someone running a red light and smashing into me.

Believe they still have to be aimed. Normal driving on a straight road, 1 to 2 passengers, is the benchmark.
Once aimed the self level & turning feature will take over.

I agree, the body shop failed to aim your headlights and may not even know how to do it properly on your vehicle. Maybe insurance will cover the Lexus dealer completing this part of your repair.

I have the exact same headlights as you. The aim (or something) is definitely way off, the low beam cover on your HIDs is very low, that line should be just low enough to keep the high beams from shining into the eyes of oncoming traffic, but your's seems to be set thinking squirrels are your oncoming traffic. But what is strange is that a lot of light does seem to shine above the low beam cover. Maybe one of the low beam covers is stuck in high beam position, and all those lines, also very weird.

Thanks! I see the rainbow line when I have lights against say a garage door..more so on high beam. Interested to see if this is normal?? Else I want to bring it back to the dealer instead of body shop to have it aligned correctly.

3984days - Your car was returned to you in an unsafe/illegal condition. The body shop is responsible to give you a car that can be driven safely at night. If they can't aim the headlights, and you're more comfortable with a dealer's expertise, I'd have it done by the dealer. They may find other mistakes the body shop gave you for free. : )

Thanks for the pics Vince!!! My do look like that now... though I am not 100% sure they are 100% correct. This damn rainbow I keep seeing is just driving my mind mad cause I don't think it should be there.. Any chance you could take a pic or just see for yourself if you have your high beams on against a garage door to see if you see any rainbow line on top edge?

Vince - Excellent photo-illustration pictures at the church parking lot. This clears things up a lot. (No pun intended)
3894days- I too have the rainbow at the top edge of the headlights against the garage door. I've gotten used to it, but I know what you mean. It's an eye-catcher. I like the old school headlights that feather the top edge of the low beam.
