Default replace differential oil

I went to change engine oil yesterday, I was told by a technician over there that cabin air filter and differential oil needs replace. My car is @50+K miles. I read maintenance requirements I have not seen recommendation of changing differential oil, how often does the differential oil need to be changed? Thank you in advance for providing information.

Change it very seldom to never. Check it for quantity each service visit. Only thing that would prompt a change is splitting it open to work on the pinion or gear set. Leaky gasket might drain it down but you would notice oil in the driveway or garage.

Did a quick scan of the on-line maintenance manual, inspect is all I saw.

He's trying to up-sell while they have the car. Cabin filter, sure. Cheap & easy to do. Cheaper to do it yourself however, if you care to.

If done, make sure to use synthetic gear lube.

Better off letting the kids down the street work on your car.
