Default Thinking about switching 05 RX330 to RX350

Hi All,
Currently owned 05 RX330 AWD with 48K miles, didn't research prior purchased this particular year model, recently car in service and been told power steering rack is leaked, front rotors and pads needs to be replace the total would be a little over $2000, adding to that the gas mileage is horrible. After purchased this car I found this website and noticed that the second generation RX especially the 05 model are too much issues.
Anyway, I have been looking around and found a 2010 RX350 with 76K miles dealer asking for $22,666 out the door price.
Any of you guys could you please share with me your experienced/issues with the RX350.
Thank you in advance.

Hi, I too recently traded my 05 RX330 for a 15 RX350. My 05 was a very good vehicle, although i didnt have the rack problem like you have. I did replace two radiators (first one was covered under warranty) 2nd one out of pocket, and was replaced with some sort of updated version. I also had the trans/ecm re flashed for improved shifts. That helped a lot. I really liked that vehicle it was very reliable, but I didnt like the fuel millage either. I averaged 17.0-17.9 mpg`s on Premium fuel! Now as for my RX 350, the more powerful motor is a big plus! The 6 speed trans shifts even better than the five speed in my 05. (especially during spirited driving ) The fuel millage is much better as well. I now average 19.0-20.0 mpg`s on regular fuel! I didnt get all the bells and whistles this time around due to budget reasons. No GPS, no rain sensing wipers which I really didn't like anyway, and Halogen headlights vs the HID`s. In my opinion HID`s are over rated, I can see very well with the projected Halogen headlights. So far, I`m very happy with my decision. Hope this helps...Oh both were/are AWD. Also, keep in mind the 2010 your looking at is on the verge of turning five years old. If you really like it, I would have another $500.00 taken off that price. Or better yet an even $22,000.00.

I have owned my 2011 RX 350 for 3 weeks now. Really enjoy it. I like the smooth turbine like noise on the hiway. Getting about 24 mpg to the imperial gallon on the hiway and 20 in the city. I just love the comfort of the car. I find the ride is a bit rough on the rougher roads but overall I am getting used to it.

I have backup warning on the vehicle but no camera or nav. I recommend a backup camera. Edmonton Lexus treats me so well and customer service is superb. I went with Certified Preowned
and had a PPI before I committed. I have no regrets. It has AWD and had new snow tires and rims installed at Lexus. This car grows on me. It seemed a large vehicle at first but now it seems smaller.

Enjoy your search.

Thank you very much, another reason I am lean to the RX350 is due to timing chain which is a peace of mind for me.

The handling on the 2010 and above is so much better. It's like night and day compared to the 330.

Don't forget about the chassis and suspension, the 3rd gen is a dramatic improvement over the 2nd gen. We were going to replace our RX300 with RX350 till we drove the 3rd gen. Glad we went this route even though it costs substantially more.
