Default RX330 - Planning To buy

hey guys!

I'm a bit new to the forum, and have been a reader of the 2010 RX350 forum here at CL and was planning to buy the 2010 rx350 in the near future when i save enough money but recently i got into a car accident and i need a new car, so i know only have money for an 06 rx330 or 07rx350.

my question is, what is the difference between the two in terms of exterior and interior. also how are they different mechanically.

another question i am wondering is, should i knot buy the 07 rx350 becuase it was the first year to be rx350(the first year it came out) and of all the years rx330 came out i was wondering how reliable is th e06 rx330.

i know my grammar and English isn't that great, sorry about that.

thanks for answering my questions though.

The differences are not that major. Most of it are the same. Of course on the RX350 the engine is different than the RX330 and gets a lot more power.

There are Navigation differences Gen2/3 on my 04 and 05+ uses a Gen4 navigation. 07+ Uses the Gen5 navi.

I wouldnt worry about 1st or 2nd year of the model car. I had an 04 RX330 and the only major problem (not really) was the A/C servos making clicking noise.

Other than that make sure you can get the history if you can carfax etc and check it out by your mechanic.

It all depends on your price range and the condition of the vehicle. Go test drive several of them and look up the values on kbb, nada as you are located in NY and Im in TX so values may be slightly different.

Of course the newer and fewer miles would be my choice but it also depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Factor in maintenance costs(tires, oil changes), gas (RX350 requires premium I believe), insurance etc before making your choice as well. I've heard that the RX350 will have a slight higher insurance quote than the RX330.

remember kbb.com numbers are high, given the auto market crash.

you should be able to refer to kbb trade-in value, "good condition," if not lower.

There is a guy here named troy that sells the lexus oem extended warranties only if you buy a car with a certain maileage and year. I think it was like 1200-1300. Just do a search on it.

I own two 04 RX's, wonderful cars. love the fact that the 330 runs on regular, I get great gas mileage. I think the interior of the second generation is hard to beat, certainly the 2010 didn't beat it. STICK WITH THE TRIED AND TRUE !!

on e-bay you can get a great deal on a 04 for 17k-18k. Nice 06 should be 22,500. Good luck

The 330 has timing belt, and the 350 has chain.

Get the RX 350 if it is less than 2K more expensive.
I believe it has a bigger engine - 3.5L vs the old 3.3L therefore being more powerful and faster to accelerate.

Also there are some minor upgrades to the 350 including the grill, chrome handles, and I guess that's about it. Also Navigation is updated and improved, but still not great.
