I'm able to input an address and press I want to go there. I get the map screen then a voice that says click the highlighted route for navigation instructions to begin. Anywhere on the route? Does it start from where I am? I ended up calling Lexus go get me the route. Do others find this confusing? What are you expected to do and what's the value of this last instruction.
BTW this is my first Lexus (RX 350 2014), and got no hands on with the technology guru at the dealership (two salesmen book the same time). Love the car but would never buy from that dealer again.
You can click on any part of a route to select it or just click on OK and start driving.
If you have an idea of where you are going and the way you want to go then just start driving that way. If you don't have a clue then just click on OK to follow the NAV system default route.
I have a certain way to get to our daughter's house and I put a waypoint into the route to insure the NAV system takes me that way. I like using the NAV system to insure I don't miss a turn.
Using the NAV system features, guidance as well as eDestination and Destination Assist get you familiar with the features and services and make them much easier to use when you need to rely on them.
There is a "Routes" button (bottom middle) on the screen. Pressing it would take you onto another screen where 2 or 3 different routes are highlighted in blue, green and/or magenta colors. You should select one just by looking on them on the map or you check their step-by-step directions before selecting.
This process should be helpful by Lexus design, but adds confusion sometimes.
Thanks for the reply folks. I will have experiment a bit. I did see an OK button but the voice said to click on the route. I gather from your comments clicking on the route means anywhere on the highlighted route. I try both the next time I have time to test. This time I needed to get to the reception ASAP.

I usually press "ok" or just start driving very slowly at first to get the voice response to activate. My problem is when I'm in Mall or large parking lots, it seems I have to get on some street to get going in the right direction.
