Hi, was driving on the freeway and the trac and engine lights came on.. Noticed that I am no longer getting the Eco light when coasting. Ran the codes and it's P0157 and C1201. I have recently changed tires, not sure what other reason can cause the lights.
Before purchasing you will want to make sure of part numbers as there are differences between those built in Canada and those built in Japan for some of these parts. You can also check with Denso:
Thank you for the info, assuming my rx is built in Canada, the location of the sensor should be the same right? And from the sewell link, I'm assuming it should be part 89465A? And that is for bank 2 sensor 2?
I've also reset the light once before, drive for a week or so and now it's back. Just reset it again and try to see if it was the gas cap.
No need to assume. If your VIN starts with "J" it was made in Japan. If it starts with another letter, it was made elsewhere. Hope this helps.
Ray A.
I actually knew that, wife just came home and vin starts with 2T, so not Japan. But still unsure which sensor I would need to purchase to replace bank 2 sensor 2.

I'm just assuming here, but it could be that there was a failed attempt to steal your CAT converter and left a crack behind it, thus now you have an exhaust leak. Happened to a friend of mine.

It might not be an attempt to steal the cat, but definitely a possibility that there could be a crack down there since wife just ran over something a week prior to this happening. Will need to jack it up and look under later on.
And if its the sensor, the bank 2 sensor 2 post cat meaning the power connector would be inside the car under carpet, a PIA to get to, correct?

Thanks guys for the inputs.
Maybe not a PITA. I don't have a 3RX but on the 1RX, there's a minor slit in the carpet under the driver's seat to access the connector for the sensor. I'd imagine the 3RX has the same thing.
How many miles on the car? Seems a bit early for a oxygen sensor to go.
The car has less than 40k miles. Only happened recently after my wife ran over a rock that damaged the rims and needed a tire replacement. after resetting the light, the car was fine for a few days until staying idle at one spot, then it came back on. Will have time this weekend to take a look under the car.
Can anybody confirm for me that 89465A is the bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor from the sewell diagram above provided by RX330inFL? Because there is also a 89465(no A) that has a slightly different part number right behind another cat.

It is possible that the rock hit the O2 and damage the wires. For such a low mileage you wouldn't expect the O2 sensor to died.
