If you are changing the O2 sensor yourself, I would just take it off and take it to the dealer.
Just changed it today, it's actually easier than changing oil.. Just gotta remove the front cover with 5 bolts and 6 clips to access the plug. The sensor has the part number on it, I just want to make sure that the sensor I took off is the bank 2 sensor 2. Now just gotta drive it for a week to see if the light comes back on.
I got the same traction off - check engine lights. Turns out the gas cap wasn't on correctly. Had to go to the dealership to get the code cleared. Never happened again. Such a waste of time to have to go to the dealership (only one in town) to get the code cleared.
Hope your issue is resolved.

Any of the big box auto parts stores will be more than happy to connect their scan tool to your vehicle to read any error codes and reset as necessary. Normally this is a no charge item.
I cleared my code twice already and it came back, so it was not gas cap. It might still be too early since I changed the sensor, but everything is fine still. As for part stores checking codes and resetting cel, they no longer do that in CA because of stores telling customers what is wrong, customer buy parts and it ended up being something else was bad.
hi, i've read through all of the posts I could find related to the sensor. so over the weekend, i replaced what I thought was B2S2. $75 at amazon, $130 at advance auto for Denso 234-4509.
It was after the catalytic converter, but before the muffler and the sensor itself was on the passenger side. Which I thought was right side, downstream... Of note, the wire harness is really under the driver side. Then I reset the ECU by pulling the fuses, and the check engine + traction lights came back on after a couple miles of driving. So, I think I got the wrong one...
Either way, i'll put everything on this thread for future reference once it's totally sorted out. Any clarification from you guys in the mean time will help though. Can anyone confirm?
The local toyota dealership is saying it's the one behind the radiator (easily accessible from under the hood). It looks like it is the same part number. Toyota 894650e010 = Denso 234-4509.

I know that the parts stores have code readers but I didn't know they could reset a code. Thank you for that info!
Actually, this happened pretty soon after I got it and since I didn't know it was likely the gas cap (except that I remember this happening to my husband with his Vette once), so I ran it back to the dealership. That won't happen again.
Using the link provided below and on page 25 it appears the sensors 'may' be covered underOther Parts Used in Systems Listed • Data link connector (8/80) • Hoses, clamps, fittings, tubing and mounting hardware • Malfunction indicator light and bulb (8/80) • Pulleys, belts and idlers • Sealing gaskets and devices • Sensors, solenoids, switches and valves
