I'm really confused about the packages available on the newest RX. I saw a video on YouTube
showing a 2015 with a touring package. When I look at Lexus.com there isn't a package by that name. Could it be the same as the luxury package?
The one on YouTube shows a sunglass holder just below the enform buttons. I looked at a new one today at the dealers and no sunglass holder. Salesman looked at me like I was crazy when I inquired
Touring package is available in Canada. I'm not sure about Safety Connect (the button near the sunglass holder) or European versions. BTW, early US 2010 RXs did have a sunglass holder until Lexus introduced Enform and Safety Connect back in August 2009. It would've been nice if your salesman mentioned that instead of giving you a funny look
Sorry, after further review, I see the video was made in Canada.
I had a previous model with the sunglass holder and my 2014 GX has one just below safety connect.
When I saw the video, I got excited thinking the new RX would have one too.
Oh well, can't have everything.
I love the RX. Every time I see one ( which is multiple times a day ) I realize no other car will satisfy me.
But the GX has some amazing things I wish they would add to the RX.
Cross traffic alert, touchscreen, sunglass holder, etc
Put those options on the RX and you would have the perfect car.
Sounds like you need to buy a 2nd gen RX instead. It's got all that except for cross traffic alert. I'm sure the whole process would be easier if you didn't have another Lexus with the features you like. But the RX has its own uniqueness. All I can say is go with your gut. It's rarely wrong.

But it doesn't have the sunglass holder or touchscreen. And whether it will get the 360 camera is still unknown. I'll agree the NX is not small after seeing it at the New York International Auto Show last month. There's no mistaking it for another vehicle either. Sandy14 seems to have her heart set on another RX though.

The NX will get cross traffic alerts which was on her list. As she was not getting the sunglass holder nor touchscreen anyway I thought I would throw that out for her considerations. Perhaps worth waiting to see how things will flesh out.
The NX has an array of innovative on-board technology, including an available Lexus-first Wireless Charging Tray which enables Qi compatible phones to be charged. Other available technology includes the first application of a new Lexus Remote Touch Interface with a touch pad; Pre-Collision System with All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control; Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert; power folding rear seat and Lane Departure Alert. The standard-equipped Multi-information Display features an available Lexus-first G sensor and boost meter.

Honestly, I'd rather wait until confirmation of the various features rather than to get all excited about them. That way I'm not disappointed. Don't get me wrong, my initial impressions of the NX are positive and there's plenty of promise. And if waiting is not an issue, I say sure, sandy14 should consider it. But it sounds like she wants another RX based on her comments and is ready to buy now. The NX F-Sport and hybrid might not appeal to her too. She hasn't offered an opinion on it.
Good information. Part of me wants to wait, the other half Wants the RX ASAP.
The RX F sport has the rear traffic alert and I thought about testing one of those.
The specs on the NX are tantalizing. I wonder about the cargo space though. I haul around a lot of
kid gear. ( grand kids). Yes the GX is great for that but it's not always available when I need it.
Cargo area on the NX is almost as large as the RX. No appreciable space loss there. It also supposed to have the added feature of power folding rear seats too. I imagine more confirmed information will come out soon since it's supposed to go on sale in the fall. I'll be at the dealer next weekend and plan on checking.

Good to know. Please keep us updated. All I can find out around here is " sometime in the fall"
Well, fall around here could be Christmas.
