Default High Pitched Squealing When Moving

Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone knew what would cause my Lexi to squeal, in a high pitch fashion, while she is running. The rapidness does not change with acceleration/ deceleration. The brake pads are also squeaking- but the new squeal is with no brakes being applied. I had a mechanic suggest a total transmission rebuild- idk if I trust that. Thank you!!

Hi. Welcome to CL. If the squeal is there from the moment you start the car while the car is Parked, I don't see how this can be a transmission rebuild.

What year and mileage on your RX?

Is it possible to take a video of it upload to youtube for example?

What year is your RX and how many miles do you have on it? Is it FWD or AWD?

If the brake are making noise, that new squeal that you hear could be a stuck brake caliper. It could also be that it's low on rear diff fluid.
