Default MY 450h needs new brakes.

My 450h needs new brakes and I was wondering if there were any recommendations. I will do it myself, but would like to hear if anyone has had any issues with replacement brake components both good or bad. I am looking for good quality high performance brake parts. This is a heavy car and I drive it hard from time to time (it's fun!!!).

Thanks for any input.

If you desire you can upgrade to a bbk. There is a thread in here about it, it won't affect the hybrid system.ine is below.

Either BBK or just change out the pads for some high perf low dust pads.

During a TSB, Lexus changed brake pads to lower dust and squealing on the GS450h's. If you decide to go with OEM, new p/n is: 04465 -30400.

I used EBC RedSTUFF pads all round in my 450h, stops on a penny now! Only downside, I had my front discs skimmed as they were well within tolerance, and now the new pads (being slightly harsher on the discs) have warped them, so i get a nasty judder which means I'm now going to have to buy new discs! Doh!

So if you are upgrading your pads I personally would recommend upgrading to decent performance discs(rotors)!

Oh and if going for drilled, make sure its a reputable company that makes them and make sure the holes are countersunk as well as just drilled as this helps to prevent cracks occurring on the disc face!
