Default brakes

i know these are softer pads than what regular cars have but damn, why are these brakes so dusty? i mean i clean them and go for a 3 mile drive, with very light braking and i come back and see the whole damn wheel covered in dust again. its like not even worth cleaning them cause you can never really keep them clean anyways.

Is there some other pads people have changed here that dont cause this amount of brake dust? cause this is ridiculous, i mean normal street driving causing this much dust is just uncalled for.

by the way with just normal driving no track no hard braking how long are these pads suppose to last?

High end brake pads procure excessive dust. All my cars have done this over the years. It's just the nature of the beast. You can replace them with different pads that aren't as bad but in most cases you will sacrifice performance.

welcome to owning a high performance cars. that's the price you pay for high performance brakes -- brake dust. there is no cure unless you sacrifice performance (and if such pads available)

and yes, even with very normal driving you will still get a lot of dust. just look at any other m3 or c63 or rs4

What's cheaper to replace? Brake pads or a Skunk/TRD built 8 speed transmission that is one of the most advanced slush boxes in the world? Use the throttle blips but don't use that instead of your pads

Significantly less than other cars!!!

read the disclaimer on the Lexus spec sheet on the website. They say the tires and brake pads may last less than 20,000 miles.

I'm hoping that there are some kind of standard Brembo pads that will replace them that we can get on the aftermarket.

Ceramic pads I suspect will make a lot of drivers happier than the high-dusting pads on the F.
