I don't have an Android, but it's my understanding that they can do that and even read (and reply, I think) to emails as well.

I have the 2013 RX350 with Nav Package. I just read about the siri feature in new RX350, is there any possibility I can update my RX350 software to enable siri ?

Sorry, no. Only comes with the new 2014 vehicles and it only supports Apple devices.

In case you're thinking this should be easy enough to do, it's actually quite complex. For example, the stereo can be completely off (or on the radio, or something) and you can tell Siri to play a song, and the car will switch the radio on, turn it to bluetooth audio, and then start playing the song.

Actually, I do think it should be easy to do. From what I understand, the hardware in the 13 and 14 are the same. They have already written the software, since the 2014 is running the necessary software. What else is needed except to update the 2013 firmware with code used in the 2014 firmware?

I'm stumped...recently switched from ATT iPhone 5 to Verizon iPhone 5s and I am no longer able to hear my text messages read aloud to me while driving (and verbally reply).

"Allow Notifications" is turned on in settings on the iPhone.

Any suggestions?

On your iphone go to settings/general/ and turn on Siri. Then press and hold the off hook button until you hear the Siri command. Then tell Siri to read the last text message. Simple as that.

I am aware of that option. I'm trying to find out why the incoming message alert is not displaying on my nav screen when I receive the message. Then I have the option to listen to it or ignore it.

I had the same issue when I went to the new iPhone 6+. I previously had the message screen come up when I got an incoming text message, but it stopped with the new phone.

Go to Settings, select Bluetooth, then find your car's connection profile under My Devices (mine says CAR MULTIMEDIA.) Tap on the blue circle with the i inside. The first choice listed in the next screen is Show Notifiications. My guess is that it is turned off. Tap the sllider to make it green, and your notifications should start working again.

Apparently, even though I did a restore from my 5s backup, it did not maintain that setting. It took me quite a while to figure that out! Hope this helps.
