I press the talk button and it brings up the voice menu which shows "Call name"
However if i then say "Call Jim"
It doesn't call Jim as you expect it, it says "you want phone?" you say yes, it goes to phone and you have to say "Call Jim" again.
I don't understand why it shows the call name function on the first screen but then doesn't work.
The first screen should therefore show "Go to phone" not "Call <name>" imo.
actually I find it works better than any car I have ever had; using Android 4.3 on an HTC One Max..
did you download your phone book? is there a "jim" in there?
It needs be said exactly the way its in your phone book
Which brings up a question for 2014, does Siri Eyes Free require an iPhone, or does it go through the data on any device?
I had a $99 handsfree device that worked like we would wan the Lexus to. If you had an android connect and you pressed the button, it initiated Google Search (which does a lot fo the same Siri things).. If you had an iphone connected and pressed the button, it pulled up Siri.
If the $99 device can do this simple thing, you would think Lexus could do it. They can with just a programming change. It doesn't require special hardware...
For now, the Siri-like functionality is only available with an iPhone.
