Nicely done! I need to do the same thing.

 

My 2013 rx350 also came with only only one key. The least expensive solution I found was

1) FOB. From Sewell $105 with club discount. Their mechanical key is very expensive.

2) get the blank mechanical key on eBay $4.95. I got two and they are perfect.

3) local Lexus dealer programmed key and cut the two blanks for $62.

I wrap one key in aluminum foil and keep hidden in the car, one mechanical key hidden under the frame and I'm good to go.

I have lost one of my Key fobs. I also am planning to buy a new key fob. Is there a way to disable the old key fob in my menu so it is no longer usable?

 

When you have the new key fob programed, they probably can disable to old one at the same time.
