I just bought my first Lexus, a 2010 RX 350. I wish my first post here was a bit more interesting, but...
I had my mechanic buddy take a look at it and he noticed that the lug nuts were stripped (on the outside corners). He claims they are cheap aftermarket nuts and should be replaced, preferably with lug nuts from Toyota.
If I'm buying from a Toyota dealer, which vehicle uses the same parts? I'm guessing it's the Highlander but that's just a guess. Anyone have a "best" place to buy replacements?
Yes, Toyota Highlander lug nuts will fit just fine and look identical (I've got one on each wheel). Either from Toyota or reputable tire dealer. Mine came from Discount Tire after it was discovered that I was missing the special lug nut 'key' from the PO.
The nuts were stripped or the bolts? Either way, you don't need to go to the dealer for replacements. The nuts are easily found online or any at any tire shop. For what Toyota/Lexus will charge you for bolts, you can likely get some Adamantium after market versions

Thanks to all. yeah, it was the corners of the nut that were stripped, as if someone used the wrong size lug wrench. My buddy looked close and said that some of the aftermarket ones (such as those on my car) aren't too great. Thanks again for the answers.
TireRack is a sponsor of this forum and I have used them many times in the past. Check out their site and compare prices to Toyota. They have quality products. http://www.tirerack.com/?affiliate=DZ1
If you can't find OEM, most tire centers carry McGard lug nuts. Often McGard is the supplier for the dealer add-on wheel locks. Be sure they are 12mm x 1.50
