Yes, with an XL load range rating and a load index of 105, higher than other tires for the RX in this size, the sidewalls need to be extra tough and perhaps without as much flex. Definitely a tire for someone who does not mind a stiffer ride than the OE tires provide.

BRIDGESTONE Dueler H/P Sport
MICHELIN Latitude Tour
CONTINENTAL Sportcontact5

Bridgstone and Michelin are 'out'.

Pirelli and Conti are almost same, conti maybe more sportive not really ECO (as Ecocontact5) and has got more grip.

What do you recommend?

I believe the original load rating for the OE tires was 101, FWIW.

Go with the Pirelli.

 

Just spotted the following review from tirerack for Bridgestone Ecopia 422. It seems to reduce the bumpy ride feel on RX350 and sounds very promising.

2010 RX350 Bumpy Ride Suspension Issues Finally Solved with Bridgstone Ecopia 422's

Compared to original Bridgestone 400's, these tire are a big improvement in ride comfort, quality and performance.

Tire PSI is extremely important on the 2010 RX350 - This is the new SUV's 1st model year - and Lexus did not get the suspension tuning right at all.
(A new 2014 has a much more forgiving suspension, by a mile).

I run at 32 PSI Front and 36 PSI Rear and the car handles nicely - for a FWD
SUV. Still not anywhere close to my old 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee - RWD Only
- maybe that's why I like the higher PSI in the rear tires.)

Also - The Lexus Dealer always sets Tire PSI to 37lbs - since this eliminates
a Lexus known bug (no recall yet) for a low tire pressure warning indicator.
(Funny, when the Lexus engineers originally ran this car on the test track - they ended up stamping 32PSI Front and 32PSI Rear on the inside door jam??

**** 37 PSI on the 2010 RX 350 (FWD) simply does not work with this car.
All you get is a jittery, twitchy and choppy ride.

I am very happy to report, that on my particular 2010 RX 350, withthe 422 Ecopias, and my own PSI settings, the car does handle very nicely.

Expect double the comfort as compared to the original Bridgestone 400's.

I would certainly buy these tires again since they helped ride quality, but also I look forward to some day owing a 2014+ RX350, where the tires don't have so much impact on ride quality.

 

Ecopias 422s will be my next set of tires. great reviews and my friend has a set.

never heard of this model, but i personally always loved yokohamas, went thru a set of AVIDs and now I'm on Envigors. Let us know how these hold up

 

Will do. Plus we have 4 seasons here and I'm an aggressive drive. We'll see how this tire holds up to Michelins.

This is for a 2006 RX330 with 18" wheels. The two tires both come highly recommended on this forum and cost basically the same price so I'm wondering which would be better. I live in Florida so these will thankfully see zero snow or mud but they will see rain.

The Alenza Plus is too new for much data. Only one CL member has installed them on their RX so far from what we have seen.

Both are available at Costco. The Ecopia has been giving owners a nice quiet ride from the looks of things.

Installed 235 55r19 Bridgestone Ecopia 422 on 2011 RX 450h two weeks ago. Based on 300 miles experience below is my ratings.

Comfort - 8/10 (feel little bit vibration on 85 mph )
Quietness - 9/10 (very smooth on all kind of roads)
Wet traction : 8/10
Mileage : 24-25 mpg ( less than the previous tires - Bridgestone 400 OEM - 28mpg).
Price: $870 from costco including rebate
I'll keep posted on this tires.

 

Got a set of NITTO 421Q mounted today. They have decent specs and hope to get many miles from them. But the pricepoint was what really sold me. I own a set of NITTO Crosstek CUV for my Highlander and have had nothing but a good experience. I will update when I get a few miles on these new shoes.
