Extended Warranty
I recently purchased a 2010 RX 350. It has 46,000 miles so the manufacturer's warranty is about to expire. I would like to purchase an extended warranty. I called the local Lexus dealership in Birmingham today and got a quote of $2,765 for a 7 yr/100,000 Lexus Platinum Warranty. That seems high. Does anyone have a suggestion of where to purchase a warranty and what is a reasonable price? Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Having looked at both Jerry J and Troy D, I was quoted matching lowest prices at Lexus of Naperville for a 2010 RX450h with less than 37K miles on it. Because of the projected mileage, I chose 75K / 8 yr platinum plan for $1665. Hybrid warranties cost more. FYI.
Do shop around and then compare local to see if they will match the price - chances are, they will, to at least keep your business. BTW, no sales tax in IL on extended warranties (very surprised). I would stay away from 3rd party warranty plans, because these seem to have stringent approval requirements for when something goes wrong.

I would highly recommend Jerry, I just bought mine a week ago from him....Search for the forum for athread I started "Should I or not" in this forum for the prices that I was quoted.

Hello
We just purchased a 2015 ES 300h, pick up is in 2 days.
After negotiating we were offered an extended 8 yr 75k warranty for 1850. The warranty for dings for 5 years was $500. And since we went with zero down the gap coverage is $8 a month.
Just wanted to get thoughts if it sounds reasonable.
