Question Nav Zoom Hard Button with Soft Button Off

I am wondering when I hide my on screen soft zoom buton (+ and -) on the left and right I lost the ability to zoom from the center controller button. Is this normal? or does anyone know away around it? Currently I have enabled the soft zoom to stay on screen whether the "on" or "off" for additional functions is clicked. But it seems to me like wasted real-estate.

Once you hide the row of buttons on the bottom of the screen, you should still be able to zoom using the remote touch controller by pressing the arrow buttons in between the Menu button and Map button

Really? Because when I hide the zoom buttons from the screen so only the "on" button is on the screen. I can't zoom in or out anymore with the button between the Map and Menu. I have a 2010? Do you have the same model year? And somebody confirm if they still have zoom with out the on screen zoom buttons?

Thanks.

Same here with a 2013 (with the latest gen Nav). Would love to be able to zoom by pressing the physical button without having to expand and make visible the on-screen buttons - kind of defeats the purpose.

Btw, what other purpose does the physical button have?

You can use the button to switch radio preset pages. There are six pages, with six presets per page

In case anyone is interested you can control what soft buttons are or are not present when using the "Off" button.

Menu - Setup - Navigation - Detailed Navigation Settings - "Off" Functions

Choose to keep the "+" and "-" buttons, but hide the rest. Select "OK", then "Save".

So, the zoom soft buttons will still be there, but the rest should be hidden, and the physical button will still function to zoom the map.

Not perfect, but it can help.

Thanks RogersDA. I set that up. Not a bad workaround.

Thanks all for the advice and follow up. Guess nothing is wrong with my RX; I just have to keep the soft zoom on as advised.
