auto mute when CD playing

auto mute when CD playing
Good Day,
got a rare phone call on my iphone 4s yesterday while i was listening to an audio CD in my 450h with navigation. the audio on the cd did not mute or stop is this normal? or have i missed a setting somewhere. I think the audio muted when i recieved a call while listening to an FM station (but i am not sure now). I am currently re reading the Nav Book and see that when recieving a call audio is supposed to mute, but it does not mention if this is for all media.

It should mute the audio when a phone call comes in regardless of the source of music. I have used all sources of music including BT and it always mutes. I wish it would mute when using the nav guidance system.
