Yes you were. If you had the transmission in drive and/or reverse, you were driving.

This is your fault, not your car's.

He was not "blaming" the RX-he was complaining about lack of a certain fiture (loud BEEP or something like that) many of us would like to have also...Place yourself into his shoes and give the guy a break-he is going to have enough blaming from his DF/etc., most likely good deductible had to be paid....

Give the guy a break for not knowing he left a door open and then blaming lexus ??

No, no breaks deserved here.

He said ""I wonder why there was no warning sound? This is bad! There has to be a warning sound! Lexus, are you kidding?!!?"

Sounds like blaming the car or Lexus engineers to me.

If he knows he's ultimately at fault and is just wondering if RXs are supposed to make a warning noise in this circumstance, then I apologize for misjudging him.

Otherwise I have seen plenty of people like this end up at their service adviser's desk, demanding free repairs for their own mistake.

Hopefully I misread him.

Ok, guys, cool it down. I'm pretty sure that there are a ton of similar posts here that makes you think that "what?, couldn't you just look it up at the manual?" But bashing him more about it doesn't change anything or gain anything. And just like anything else, **** happens.
