LOL Jim. It pays to stay with the same dealer. My SA always takes care of me

RXSF, I agree, the infrastructure is there by me too. I went through the list and found some changes but not on roads I travel. Who cares about a new development. Plus NJ roads are notoriously ridiculous by design. Nothing can fix that.

I totally agree with you . And attached to the accessory outlet and poking out of the console lid is my phone charger cord. Don't even use the radar detector anymore, with the hybrid driving excessively fast defeats the purpose.

It's caused me to have a very pleasurable paradime shift in my driving habits

But that being said, I can see the appeal of free updates from portable navs, but I dont see myself getting one for multiple reasons. I dont want to see anything on my dash or windshield. I like seamless integration of certain things in OEM nav systems, and almost 100% of the time, the dash of a vehicle with nav looks better than the dash of the non nav counterpart.

In my view these updates are a waste of money. My 2010 RX has the '09 version, but there are service stations on there that have changed hands or gone out of business in '05 or earlier. Lexus has to rely on the master database and whatever source they are using is not at all up to date. Don't think you are going to see a huge upgrade in a couple of years.

Default Nav Update

I have only done the update in my RX once in the 4 years I have owned it. Didnt notice any difference.

Unless you live in a area with alot of new roads or subdivisions. A once a year update would not be worth the money.

Well at first I was told I could install the update so I had it ordered. When it came in was told again I could install it but when I got to the dealer I could not install it and they wanted $250 to install the update. I did not update the nav.

I bit the bullet today and did the 11.1 upgrade I had the 9.1

I'm a Realtor and I'm getting ready to go out this weekend into new areas. Total with tax was $277.
We have had a lot of changes in my area so it was worth it, I hope.

Nothing stuck to your windshield is going to "look great."
Garfield stuck to the rear window might be cute once, but nothing stuck to your windshield enhances the appearance of any car, especially something upmarket.

Excuse me?! The disc is 170 bucks, as Lexus has lowered the price of the disc. I would go back to the dealer and ask them to adjust the price. Get them from Sewell Lexus, they even throw you a little something for your old disc. I have 4.1 in my car so I think they will only give me a boot in the @ss for it. I definitely need a new disc. But definitely look into them adjusting that price.

EDIT: Sorry I realized now you have no disc.
