Thanks again for the additional "data points". It sure makes sense that the downside from treating non-purchasers less favorably far outweighs what they gain from being able to hold "service challenges" over the head of a prospective buyer in order to avoid being competitive on price.
The service fees charged have a pretty nice markup, far more than the additional margin they would earn by treating a car buyer as if they have no other place to make their Lexus purchase. And there is also that coveted "elite" award, which I assume comes from pure service surveys, and not just from buyers.
