I searched to know avail and don't know why my outside rear view mirrors change position when
putting my 2012 RX in reverse......

Any Ideas?

 

So you can see the curb.

 

Leave the mirror adjustment button in the middle (not on the L or R) and they will no longer turn.

 

That's normal for the side view mirrors to move down when reversing. If you want to turn it off, on the driver side where the side mirror controls are, press whichever side is lit so the light turns off. It should deactivate the mirrors. I actually find the feature convenient when backing in near a curb.

 

There's an "L" and a "R" on the armrest and if one of those is "on" the mirrors pivot downward. If unselected, the mirrors do not move.

 

I think you can also make them fold into the car when parking as well.

 

Only with the Luxury Package.

 

okay. mine do. I pushed a button by accident and whoosh.

 

I was looking for that button for a while after the function was turned off accidentally after a service. I think it is very helpful, especially when you reverse into a parking stall you get to see the lines on both sides and you get to back in straight and leave both sides even spaces.
