Display trip meter A, then turn power off.
While pressing the ODO/TRIP button, turn the power switch to on mode.
Keep the ODO/TRIP button pressed for about five seconds. Reset is complete when 000000 in the trip meter flashes once and the message in the multi-information display disappears.
I realize that there are special circumstances for everything, but it never ceases to amaze me that there are so many people, including dealerships, who are positive that they know better than the engineers who designed the car or the manufacturer who supports the warranty. Just read the manual and do what it tells you to do!!! In this case it is to change the oil every 10,000 miles.
It's all about the money.. The more frequent you are in the serivce department, the more ways they can "recommend" other services. Same goes for the Sales dept. Your presence is an opportunity for them to "update" you with the current promotion that they're having.
I do my own oil changes on all our vehicles. As for the tires, i have COSTCO to rotate them for me.
Honestly, i feel more confident behind the wheel doing that.
I get it done 5,000 due the nature of my driving conditions, where I drive to school it isn't dusty but when I go and conduct business for my dad I usually have to drive through dustier part of Califirnia to get to LA. It's only sometimes I can coax my dad into letting me take his '12 S63 for business, but I play it safe and get it done at 5,000...

Sorry that so many have pushy dealers; I have done the 1,000, 5,000 and now 10,000 on my '13 and drove 100 miles one way to get it done. Never been pushed to other services or jumped on by a salesman no matter how long I look; I have to ASK them to do the special "Clay bar and wax " special; and I always wait 2-5 hours for my vehicle also.......Great Dealer.......

100 miles for a dealership? That's like driving LA to Bakersfield already. Both have lexus dealership though. If you have a nearby toyota service dept. they can do most of the routine maintenance. And for a cheaper price as well.
