2014 rx i have 700 miles till my next oil change. Gonna leave the rx in florida garage for 6 months.

Should i get an oil change or wait 6 months ?

 

Whatever is most convenient for you. There are those that will say that your oil is now acidic and it'll sit there and cause damage. I don't believe that because modern oils have so much more buffers in them than they did 50+ years ago when people started that argument. Even if it is acidic, do you really believe it's just bubbling away in there like 2M HCl acid?

 

If it was me I would probably get it changed, that way it's done and I don't have to think about it. Basically something I can cross off my "to do list".

I would change it now. And if it makes you feel better change it when you get back. Oil is cheap

 

I would wait until the you return and then do the oil change.

Most factory maintenance recommendations for warranties specify the oil get changed at a certain mileage or every 6 months.

The should be changed every 6 months due to water contamination when the oil sits unused in an engine.
