Default Add Intuitive Parking Assist

Does anyone know how much it cost to add intuitive parking assist? I just purchased a 2010 RX350 from CarMax and that was the only feature on the car it doesn't have that I really want.

I believe that's a factory installed option.

Thank you for the response. Do you know the cost to have it factory installed? Since I already have the car without it, I would like to add it now.

I believe "factory installed" means you can't install it after it leaves the factory. Of course, there may be after-market products?

If you really wanted to do it, you would have to contact Lexus and figure then costs to send your car back to the factory in Japan. Otherwise, your best bet is aftermarket.

Yeah, great idea! I wonder how much it would cost to send a vehicle back to Japan and then add the costs of adding the intuitive park assist? Better option: sell the RX and go buy what you really want with factory installed options?

You're absolutely right!

Better option: sell the RX and go buy one with the Park Assist!

Aftermarket systems are crap ..... stay away. A poor soul over on the IS forum went through this a few years ago....a nightmare until Lexus Corp stepped in. Don't do it.

I also faced the same thing when we're looking for the RX450h for my wife a few months ago in May 2011 when every dealers in Bay Area in Northern CA had very limited supply of RX450h available . We saw one car with all the options we liked but without the intuitive parking assist and the sale person told us the dealer can have somebody to install the aftermarket parking assist for $500 ( same price with the factory installed) but he told us that is basically the "sound alarm" only( you hear the sound only)and can not incorporate into the existed navigation, back up camera. We declined the offer and didn't buy that car. We recently bought the RX450h with that factory installed option and we are glad that we are waiting , because the system is much better, if not the best, because you can see all the warnings on the Navigation screen and hear the sound as well. In my opinion this is a NO for after market installation, waste your money.

about 1300 CAD, I was already finished this because the car already pre-wire for the front sensors, but have to buy the rear wire on Lexuspartsow. If you are in the US, you can buy all the parts(ecu, 6 sensors, one wire for rear, 6 clips)

after buying these parts, you have to dig six holes on bumpers by your own. They are simply plug and play.

are you sure its plug and play? It has to be integrated into the nav system and the instrument cluster

I called the nearest lexus dealership and was told it couldn't be done. He said after market would not have the same quality and I risk ruining my car. Oh well.... this was my first lexus and I have to admit, I got a little too excited. I'll know next time. :-)
