So just go into an accident with the 250 and I'm planning on going to a rx350.

Has anyone else made this jump? What are your thoughts? How much for a fill up on the RX per week?

My wife will be thrilled with this jump, but I'd rather go to an IS350. Except we have a 4 month old.

depends how many miles you drive. I would think you would need a fill up every week and a half on average if you do about 20 miles a day. I think you will love it.

I drive 14mi (back and forth) everyday to work, once a week I drive 90mi for other activities. Weekends 50+mi for other activities. I fill the tank once a week. I miss my once every 2 weeks to fill the tank.

My previous car was a 2007 IS 350 fully loaded and in December we picked up a 2011 RX 450h. Similar to what you're talking about. It took me a bit of time to get used to driving a SUV and a larger vehicle. I love the RX and really enjoy driving it, however, I enjoy it for different reasons from the IS 350. The IS still has a special place in my heart as my first Lexus and i LOVED the small size of it. It was incredibly fun to drive. The RX on the other hand is soooo quiet and smooth but just not as nimble. You'll get used to it and probably love the extra utility that you get from the RX.

Own both an IS350 and an RX350 and they are completely different tools for different purposes. I just don't think you can compare a sports sedan with an SUV. There is nothing in common between them. If you like the dynamics of the IS you will find them completely different in the RX, and vice versa. Make sure you drive the RX to make sure it is acceptable to you for what you uare looking for.

Owned old IS300 then RX350. Love the SUV but Drive ~100 miles (commute everyday). Almost 2 tanks every week. . However, i'm enjoying driving more than the IS.

I have a 2008 awd IS 250 and a 2010 RX350. I've owned 2 other RXs. The IS is definitely more fun to drive and gets better mileage. However, when there is a storm, snow, ice there's nothing like the secure feeling of the RX. The RX is terrific in the snow (I live on a hill!). The RX is so easy to load at Costco. The RX wheels and tires are much more durable and the brakes aren't as affected by deep puddles. I drive the RX about 80% of the time and the IS for fun.

Went from a 2008 IS350 to 2010 RX350 and like previous posters they are definitely very different but fit our needs perfectly. Our commute is 100 miles a day and the maintenance on the IS was getting expensive. (tires every year hurts). For mileage we got 23 in the IS and we now get 21 in the RX for the same commute so that didn't change too much which I am very pleased with.

Went from 2007 IS250 AWD to 2010 RX350 and loved it. RX is noisier on hway comparing to IS, mpg differences are very minimal for local driving (1-3 mpg for city and about 5-6 mpg when cruising on hway). THe safety of the RX is the main thing that made us change.

Enjoy.

We have the 2007 IS 250 AWD and the 2010 RX 350. If you have a lot of twisty turning roads the IS 250 wins as the driver's choice every time. However, if you are on straight aways or long trips the RX is the best road vehicle to have. The RX gas mileage won't ever be what you get on the IS 250 but it is pretty good for a SUV. We get 18-19 mpg around town and 22-23 on trips. We get 24 mpg around town in the IS and 28-30 on the highway.
