Default hidden tow hitch

I have seen the threads on the aftermarket tow hitches, but I have not heard much about the hidden tow hitch.

What makes it hidden or how is it appear "hidden"?

Does anyone have pics of the hidden tow hitch?

I've just installed the Curt hitch on my 10 RX and I am quite impressed by the hitch's weight, powdercoating, and the fit. The only thing you can see from the back is the square receiver. There might be a hidden hitch, but I've never seen it. Or would I know if I saw it???

Wow Mac, that is a nice looking hitch. I don't know how much more hidden it can be.

No, it is reflection of the flash I guess. I have yet to tow anything. As I mentioned earlier this is the Curt hitch model # 13451. Along with it I got the electrical T-connector 56083 and the tube cover with built-in electrical holder #21728. I bought all this from thehitchstore.com. My RX came with the towing prep pkg. and the electrical part works fine.

My 2011 RX also comes with the towing prep pkg as well. I hope it should be easy to install the hitch. Just ordered the Curt hitch. Someone in this forum mentions that you have to cut something when installing the hitch. What type of tool you have to use for that?

I used a heavy duty pocket knife. It's not a tough job.

Just installed my Curt Hitch today. It's a relatively easy installation. It took about an hour. See picture...

Would you mind posting a side view? I am curious how far it sticks out beyond the bumper. Thanks!

Default Hitch Side View

You can hardly see the hitch from side view...

timlor, great pictures. It's good to know that if I ever add the hitch it won't look bad at all. Now lose the dealer frames already

I saw a "hidden hitch" yesterday on a Tundra. I didn't realize that it is a brand name. There was a lot of it exposed and it didn't look nearly as good as the Curt. It was also a 1 1/2 inch receiver while the Curt is a 2 inch.
