David, I hear ya! With the way they were describing the latest storm, the only thing missing were the clouds of locusts. Very doomsday in biblical proportion. By tonight I might need to trade in the tires for ice skates on the RX

We're in for the big snow storm too. I just hope there are no delays in flights on Friday when I'm flying out of town for vacation! I guess I'll get to test out the AWD system of the RX 450h tomorrow on my way to work.

Benny, I hope you make it out Friday. A coworker was delayed three days after last week's storm because of all the flight cancellations. Fortunately she was stuck in Florida. Could have been worse. Maybe you'll get stuck in Hawaii

Today was more ice than snow. The RX had about a 1/4 inch of ice on it when I left work. No slipping but I didn't feel like the tires were making complete contact with the road. Based on what I'm seeing after storm number one, I might stay home tomorrow and play it safe. Round two with an inch plus of freezing rain comes in a few hours.

A few fun pictures. And I couldn't use the door handle to lock the RX. Completely frozen. I had to dig out the key fob

I can't wait to detail this thing come spring and see just how badly this winter marred the clear. I already popped a tab on the front bumper where it meets the fender along the well. I pushed it back in and it stays snug, but that's discouraging. I assume I drove over mildly deep snow that made the bumper flex and push out at the top because I sure as hell haven't hit anything with the truck.

I should've bought a damned Silverado.

Thanks. Turned out no so bad. Didn't get the 20 inches they threatened, only 13". Now my neighbors on the other hand will need to dig out of their house because of drifting.

If the wind chill goes above zero, I'll photo graph my car.

Not sure these qualify as "Dirty" pictures. The snow is so clean and pure, no salt or sand whatsoever!!

Remember - photography is a matter of perception and perspective...

Ha, Ha, Ha...not really that bad!!

I usually park in this garage, so glad I didn't.

Wow, that's some drift in front of the garage, David. I have to go outside myself and clear the icy mess on the driveway now that the freezing rain has stopped. Roads still haven't been touched. I decided to take a snow day

Wow, nice snow photos! Big snow storm for some, not as bad as expected here. The RX 450h in hybrid snow mode is awesome! No problem going to work on UNPLOWED roads!

David-- Great pics. of the snow and drifts. Definitely looks "cold" there. Reminds me of winter days as a kid growing up in Des Moines, Iowa. I definitely remember some of the bitter cold winter days there. Tough on car batteries and uncovered faces.

Anita, I really hope that we can get out on Friday. I suspect that there shouldn't be a problem because the snow has really slowed and we shouldn't be getting more in the next two days. Wish me luck, because I REALLY want to get to Oahu on Friday!

By the way, very cool photo of your rear camera in your GPS screen.

Anita: Both of us in NJ probably about an hour apart or less from your posts. You were smart took the day off. I got to go in 3 1/2 hours late. Went through a slush puddle and saw brownish muck go all over. Got on the highway was ready to turn around but the southbound side was closed. So I continued driving 35 to 40 from right lane to left lane and back forth for 5 miles due to lanes being flooded. My white RX is now loaded with brownish muck all over the sides. I looked and said no dealer wash this will need professional help now along with a detail. after church Sunday a close friend remarked how clean my RX was compared to hers. Simple mine did not show the dirt like hers. Got to take a picture of this ugly sloppy mess to post.

NJ must have received a huge brunt of all the storms this year. Picked up my IS from the dealer (all shiny and clean) yesterday morning and brought it home. It is now all covered with salt and brownish stuff. My RX is in the garage all white and dirty (its supposed to be dark blue). I give up.
