Default Dry COLD Snap?

For me, what I look for is a dry WARM snap - my driveway is sloped, and the last thing I need is an ice-covered sloping driveway.

Pity I can't wash my car inside the garage instead of outside on the driveway.

The other downside to washing a car when it's below 0°C - frozen doors!

BCR, the problem with a dry warm snap is snow melt. The roads would be a mess, RX back to filthy in no time. Some roads here still have a considerable amount of snow on the sides from the storm on December 26 and the five others following it. Only heavy rain will get rid of it and wash all the salt away. In the meantime snow is falling yet again. Another foot

For those of you who have a delta sonic around you (for those of you who don't its a chain carwash place) you can get unlimited carwashes for $22 bucks a month. Our rx is never dirty, get it washed on the way and way home from school regardless of weather ha

Anita: Vancouver is somewhat unique, weather-wise, for Canada. I've only had to shovel snow off my driveway once so far this winter. At the moment, there's no snow on the ground hereabouts, and there's rain and above-freezing temperatures (day and night) for the next week in the forecast.

My car isn't anywhere near as dirty as the ones pictured in this message thread. It'll get somewhat dirty from rain and dirt kicked up off the street, but there's little to no road salt in it, at least.

So, for me, a dry warm snap would be a great opportunity to clean up.

BCR, I'm jealous of your weather! The snow just keeps coming with no chance of going away anytime soon. Record snowfall for the month and there's already talk of another big one next Wednesday

Another big problem is where to put it all. Here is a picture I took this afternoon of my RX at the end of my driveway where the pile is somewhere north of 7 feet. It would have been higher if I didn't knock it down a little. You can imagine how fun pulling out the driveway is (NOT!).

Anita, that huge snow pile is such a hazard, not fun! Hopefully you'll get a warm spell to melt that sucker sooner than later.

With the never ending snow I've given up on seeing my nice blue car! Do the mud flaps help? I see that Ray Catena is offering them installed for $129.

Go with Sewell for half the price and do the install yourself. The mud guards do help. Just look at picker's RX without them.

Thanks Anita. I hope the snow misses us for a few days at least, but we have a 60% chance of flurries and thus messy roads again today, so there is little hope of keeping the RX clean.

Default Clean for now

Finally had a chance to give the RX an overdue bath yesterday. It's amazing how much dirt and salt had accumulated. Blame it on three storms in two weeks. The 450h might not look as good as Benny's since it started to snow before I could finish. At least it's better than 99% of the cars around here. Only for the next 36 hours though, snow and sleet are on the way

Was going to mine today but then I saw the forecast and figured to wait until Thursday when the snow has stopped

My RX won't be clean for any longer than another day. We are getting a snowstorm starting on Tuesday or Wednesday. We are expecting up to 30 cm. of snow during the course of that storm.
