Default Remote start not working with one key fob

Remote start from the Lexus factory.

Odd one key fob works and one doesn't.
All the other functions work on the fob too.
I'll have to call Lexus service.

Bummer. At least it's not too cold in Jersey right now, well, maybe the mornings a little bit. Keep us posted on the cause and good luck with the fix.

Just curious, did you try different pulses with the non-working fob. Three short and then hold or four short and hold?

Two short and then one hold of the lock button for the blink of the lights and then start up a couple seconds after.
Tried it again this morning and the remote does work but must be much closer to the RX than the other remote.Maybe a weaker battery.
I find the range even with the better working remote is very short compared to other remote starts and key fobs I've had before.

I dealt with the Lexus remote start system last winter on my 2010, basically it is worthless, it only works if you stand within about 10-15 feet of the vehicle. (New definition of "remote") I had a number of humorous discussions with Lexus on the phone where they tried to say that was indeed a remote starter. I got my money back on the option cost. Now that winter is upon us, does anyone have suggestions on a REAL remote starter for this vehicle? Unfortunately, I'm sure it will mean another large fob. Jane

Did they take the remote start out of the car?

I don't have either installed on our RX yet, but Viper Smart Start or Compustar Drone work with your mobile phone. Unfortunately, there is a monthly fee, but the basic service is free the first year.

Operating distance is only limited by your cel phone service area. We have a Viper on our Maxima and like it.

The basic Viper works fine, but then you carry a second fob.
