MEP7557, I say do whatever makes you happy. It's your RX. Yes, accidents happen but you only go around the world once.

ajs, I agree people crash their brand new cars all the time. Years back I saw two with temp tags in an accident with each other. Both cars were totaled

I am still waiting for the Dealer to get me the car I want. They have prioritized my request but can not 100% guarantee me getting the vehicle. I have decided that if it does not happen, then I will live with what I got. I probably will trade the car in sooner than anticipated if I end up keeping it.

I'll keep you posted.

I had major damage to a beautiful 2 year old Corvette, years ago. While it was being repaired, I told everyone that I would keep it 3 to 4 months and then sell it. I did sell it, but 7 years later. Over the few months, your thought process changes and you get so used to the non perfect painted car that it kinda goes out of mind.
Good luck

Trying to keep the body/paint of a car perfect will probably cost you a lot of money. I have never seen a used car without some dings and scratches. If the owner had to have it perfect, they'd pay thousands to paint and repaint. What happens if a rock hits your windshield? Would you pay close to 2K to get the lexus windshield? That reminds me, I got my windshield replaced with an aftermarket windshield for my old Honda and on the day I drove it back from the shop, I hit a rock. It was minor and the shop told me they couldn't give me another new windshield because it was my fault. So I'm living with it. It's just a fact of life if you plan to drive your car.

Well, it finally came. I picked up the new one yesterday. I have to say I'm glad I did it. The paint job on this one is even better than the first one I had. Lexus has only addressed a couple issues so far since the last one. This one has a Japan build date of 04/2010.

They now give you extensions for the USB and 12V outlet. Thank you.

There is now a coin holder for the center console. I probably won't use it.

No rattles around the drivers door. YEAH!

What hasn't changed is the exhaust note. I was hoping they would have quieted that down. NO such luck. Oh well I can live with it.

Home link buttons are still not illuminated, I feel that should have been or should be addressed.

I have not checked out the Nav system completely yet but I see in other threads they have taken care of a few glitches. The lady is a lot louder than she used to be, I had to turn her way down.

Glad to be back in a new saddle. I have no children and nobody to leave my money to so I might as well spend it on me.

PS I was at my friends house a few days ago where the car got backed into. The guy that backed into me is now driving a new car, guess he couldn't deal with it either.

Ditto on Congrats to you. RE: the coin holder, can you send a close up photo? Is it something that can be added? Oh yea, send photos of the rest of the car too .

Yea!! Happy for you and hope it was worth the wait (from your comments, it seems it was)
I'd also be curious about the change holder.

Default Coin Holder

So I lied. I do use the coin holder. I would think you could order one from the dealer if so inclined. It just snaps in and out and it does slide. The part with the key in it is flat bottomed versus the other area, the bottom is curved. Those are the extension cables they now provide.

Just got back from a drive and I noticed this one shifts so much smoother than the other. I kept reading the reviews about how smooth the transmission was, I was not getting that. Now I do.

I would post pics of the new one but it looks just like the old one. Look in my garage.

Thanks all, I really do enjoy this forum.

You're right Anita, it should be 'Happy days are here again.' don't know how to change the thread title, oh well.

My dealer provided the USB cable back in 12/09, but not the power cable. I kind of like the old tray better compare to this version.

MEP7557 glad it all worked out, but why didn't you wait 3 months for the 2011 model?

I didn't wait for the 2011 because it would have cost me even more money. Right now there is no Blue Book on the car, once the figures are released by Kelley Blue Book then they use those figures. That would be lower than what they gave me. The dealer couldn't be exact on the difference but felt it could be around $5K more. The first year depreciation is a killer.

I thought about waiting because I would have really liked the Satin Cashmere color. They aren't expecting major changes for 2011 so other than color, no point.
