Default What tha hack is this light ??

Whenever I stop at a light or a stop sign, I sometimes stretch and press hard on the brakes and a light on the right side of the dash ( looks like anti skid light or something) comes on with a ding sound.. ???? It goes off when press hard on the brake again. What tha hack is this how do I disable this. I don't know if this is normal but I didn't realized this until few days ago and it is now getting annoying.

yupp...
basically further pressing the brake pedal engages it. the buzz and slip indicator on means its engaged.
what it does?
full brake pressure on all 4 wheels for approx 2-3 seconds (with brake lamp on)
reason?
to allow driver to move feet from brake to throttle without the vehicle moving backwards (when stopped on a slope)
when to use it?
when stopped on slopes, and u wanna move off without having the vehicle to roll back first. some steep slopes can cancel out the anti-rolling backwards in automatics.

Hill Start assist also works in Reverse!

It's only going to activate if you put more pressure than necessary on the brake pedal while stopped.

yeah i get that, but still its rather weird that it gives you a sound and a light. My other car does it automatically whether or not you put extra pressure on the brake pedal. It just activates it when you are on an incline, and you dont get anything to tell you that its on.

Thanks for asking about this...I did it one day and didn't know what was happening! Scared me to death. I thought I broke something. Now I know what it is. Thank you!

I seemed to ask the very same question in the first month I got my RX... Quite worried at that time.

It's not the issue about "incline". It's all about how you press your brake.
