What is the condition and quality of the tires and are they inflated to the recommended pressure.

You might be triggering the hill start assist control feature. Does the slip light flash and a beep sound when you are stopped and then press fairly hard on the brake pedal? If so, then this might be that. This feature is designed to lock the brakes on for a second or two to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards on a hill giving you time to move your foot from brake to gas pedal.

Try not pressing as hard on the brake pedal once you are stopped. I bet the light stops appearing. I have activated myself a few times if I was leaning over to get something while stopped at a traffic light and inadvertently pressed much harder than normal on the brake pedal.
