Default question on windows down via key fob

had this feature activated on recent trip to dealer

i have to hold the unlock button down until the windows are completely open or they stop rolling down

is this normal

the manual made it sound like you hold the unlock button for a few seconds & windows would completely roll down automatically

Yes, you will have to hold the the unlock button until the windows, and moon roof open all the way. otherwise they will stop at when you let go of the button. This what I have notice on my 2010 RX350 also.

isn't this feature standard or it must be programmed by the dealership? i've tried it a couple of times, but nothing seem to happen.

Yeah, I like the feature where you let go of the button and the windows stop opening. If I'm inside and I don't want the windows opening all the way but just want to open them a few inches (i.e. if it's windy and I don't want papers inside blowing around and out the windows) I can stop them where I want.

One more item for the first dealer visit to activate if it isn't on by default.

From the cabin switches, the windows are not stopping where you want them to is probably because you are pushing the switches too hard. Lexus supplies a dual position switch, where if you push it down or up all the way it will automatically open or close the window completely for you. You must push the switch part way to stop the window from moving at your discretion. And I believe this holds true for all the windows.

my '10 RX 450h doesn't have this feature enabled by default. Just in case you want to know.

Yep - knew that with the door mounted window controls. Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant with the key fob remote.

On my Infiniti I can hold the unlock button for a few seconds and lower the windows (i.e. on a hot day when I want to air out the car) but if I let go of the button, the windows will stop whenever I do that instead of going all the way down.

Shouldv'e been more clear about that.

Thanks!

Jay

Does anyone know how to turn the feature back on without having to go to the dealer? I can't find other anywhere in my manual for my 05 ES330

I actually like the fact that they dont go all the way down unless you keep holding the button.
