Bought a brand new rx350 and the very next day, swiped the side of it while backing from my garage. I do some coverage on it. But not sure if it is covered or how to find out if it is. It's really minor but it bothers me cuz it happened the very next day.
Love the car and makes me feel more guilty for not having been more careful.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Does the bumper to bumper that my dealer talked abt cover this damage?
Thanks.

No. This is why you have auto insurance. The bumper-to-bumper warranty is only for mechanical problems, not self-inflicted cosmetic.

Take it to the dealership and have their body shop give you an estimate. Then, you can talk to your car insurance and pay the deductible or just pay the full amount out of your pocket. Your choice.

A good body shop may be able to polish the damage...Or just leave it alone because there is always someone in the parking lot of your favorite supermarket, driving an old 2-door Cadillac..those doors leave deep dings in the vehicles parked next to it...

It would be easier to make a recommendation if we could see the damage, so it might be a good idea to attach a photo. Is the paint damaged, or is it just a small dent? How badly is the paint damaged? Can it be buffed out, or will it need paint? Without this information, we're making wild guesses.

Short of attaching a photo of the damage, I agree with RX330in FL. Take it to the dealership (or a body shop), and have them tell you what they would do to fix it.

You might also consider posting in the Automotive Care & Detailing section. There is some great experience in that forum, but they'll need to get a better idea of the damage, too.

Jim, welcome to CL. Unfortunately the cost will have to come out of your pocket unless you go through your insurance. Dealers usually have someone that specializes in PDR (paintless dent repair). It's probably less than your deductible. And they can make it look like nothing happened as long as the dent isn't too big. Good luck.

This kind of damage will be covered by the "collision" coverage of your auto insurance policy. So, any deductible will have to be paid before the repair is covered by your insurance co.
