What shoes are you wearing? I've noticed when its colder I get zapped more with certain shoes. Thus I look crazy touching my car wtih my elbow and not a finger

Never heard of hot static...maybe you are emitting electricity like Powder

 

I took car in for 5K maintenance and asked them to check on the static electricity problem. They found no problem and have never heard of it. My small dog jumped on the center console from the back seat and touched me we both were zapped. Where the he!! is all this static coming from? I have never been zapped by leather seats. Something is not right.

 

Could it have something to do with the fabric of the clothes you wear?
Do others get zapped when leaving your car? Do some testing I'd suggest.
