Default Shocking Experience

My 2010 RX 350 zapped me twice today. It's 90 degrees and humid. Where is all this static electricity coming from? Is it just me or have you had this experience. Never been zapped by leather seats before.

In winter, we got this problem all the time by doors. It's new to me about from leather seats.

Static electricity occurs during cold low humidity conditions, not when it's humid and 90 degrees, somethings going on! I've had leather seats for 30 years, never zapped. Suggest you inquire at the dealer. Good Luck

I get zapped all of the time here in Florida on both the 350 and my old 470. Touching the door handle can be a painful trip.

Default Ground what????

What the heck do you ground??????????? I have never been zapped by a leather interior before. I wonder if its the filler under the leather.

Do you have vented seats? Maybe it’s the ventilation fan underneath the seat that has a grounding problem, Let me ask you this iewiew, do you get shock from the passenger seat too?

I don't know, never been in passenger seat. A/C seat, you may be on to something.

I got zapped too. I also can repeat it everytime if I want. I feel that's very normal for leather seat. you wont have that problem if your seat isn't real leather. That calls static which built up when you move on your seat. You wont have that problem if dress 100% cotton pants. some materials will get easy to build up static on leather.

Haven't been zapped even once yet. And yes it's leather and has the vent motors. It's loaded with battery's too, 450h model. Living in hot & humid GA here. But no zaps (yet)

I get zapped in the winter when things get very dry from the static electricity. It's not a problem in the summer or in humid conditions.

Of course in the summer with the car air conditioner on in the car, it could take so much moisture out of the air and your clothes, that you still might get zapped. I try to hold onto something metal on the door on leaving the car when it's dry, and don't get zapped.

summer california here, very dry. normally if humidity was below 40%, you have chance to get zapped with leather seat. but all depends on what material of your pants

I will say no pants could be the best choice

some leather condition might help remove static, dont know who make best.
