Q5 has very nice int and ext design with real high consumer review score. Toyta car seems always had poor review score with more sells somehow. we tested driving both Q5 and RX2010 several times. Q5 has very impressive sun roof. however several reason we didn't select Q5 later.

1 side mirror too big and close to window - it will block short people's vision like my wife.

2 front passenger space for leg is small.

3 the brake is too heavy to me when test driving, It might be the car i drived has problem

4 real no much car could select if want to buy and dealer didn't want to negotiate the price so the price is much higher than RX2010 with similar load.

You can interpret words in your ways if you prefer. If this DSG is the issue for VW/Audi, why would you consider to buy Q5 from VW/Audi, who made such a failure tranny?

New tech needs time to develop itself and become more mature. If you cannot trust DSG, don't buy it. Let those ppl at the risk of losing his own buy it. Then, you can wait a few or many years before buying it; of course, you never have to buy it.

If you buy Q5, please trust its company, who will fix errors and bugs then make your car better and better.

I read about it on edmunds. Plus I saw it on dealers lot. Popped up under headlight. Sales guy tried to lie that someone bumped by accident. I'm sure it's manuf defect. Hope that my very own wont have this problem

Update :
I have been in contact with Lexus customer service on the loose bumper issue, via e mail. First thing they called the service manager who had told me I caused the problem, then they called me. The problem is back on both sides now. Lexus still has my complaint open, no call back yet after initial contact. The impression I got was that they viewed the bumper as a non problem and was caused by customers being rough on the bumper. Still waiting since 8/10.

I just had mine fixed - they said that Lexus was aware of the issue - it is the clips aren't fitting right under the fender. The dealer ordered parts and then sent it to a body shop - fixed in an hour or so...just take it in and they'll get you taken care of!

ladybugRX, thanks for the updates. Lexus dealers should have to swallow their words. My dealer even said and showed me that many of their cars in the lot have the same issue, so they called this is "normal".

Lexus customer service called back today (8/27) and advised that they have a fix that was discussed with the service manager at the dealership. Will take the car in next week. More then.

Well, this is just dissapointing for a $53k car. I appreciate that they have a fix, but this should have been discovered long before the car hit the street. It just seems like quality control is not a top concern anymore.

In this case, its more of a design problem than quality control.

good to know your bumper didn't fall either. my car has been drived over 4k miles and keep the same gap too. 1/8 - 1/4" large gap is by designed. people wont like it if realized it.

I dont know how about other car, but I compared my car and another RX2010 today and also see many different brand cars on the street. I can say that's not a defect at all and Lexus actually try to make it nice look but unfortuntely many people can't accept their bumper has a small extention area. most car dont have that area on their bumper. It actually makes the bumper harder to build. if we count that extention area the gap is less than 1/8 ".
