What am I missing!! Yesterday I was washing the 2010 RX. When the water from the hose hit the passenger side window, a warning buzzer came on-the same buzz that you get when the rear hatch is activated. It turned off when I opened the passenger door and repeated the same buzz each time I sprayed with water.
I sprayed water on the driver side window-same thing and buzzer stopped when I opened door!. Sprayed water on the windshield, rear seat door glass and rear window glass with no buzzer going off. Key FOB was inside car-what I am missing?
What is that feature for? so you cant open the door when you are in car wash?
the new smart access doesnt have the black button to lock the car door anymore like the on LS, GS, IS and ES and features the new touch sensitive top and bottom of the door handle to lock the car.
the circled green indent is used to lock and i guess the water pressure when washing the car is making it lock over and over again
I had the same thing happen to me, it's crazy. Also, learned if you hide the key under the rear bumper, the doors will stay locked, but rear hatch (door) will stay unlocked.
On other cars with keyless ignition, the lock button is either on the side or bottom of the door handle. Did the RX designer forgotten about the law of gravity?
What is that feature for? so you cant open the door when you are in car wash?
Without the owners manual in my hand, I think it works off breaking a laser beam while the key fob is on your person (or very near). If that's so, then the large stream of water is breaking the beam and fooling it. Kind of makes sense even.
My 450h won't be here for another 10 days approx so I don't have a manual but I'm interested as I'll have the same system.
