I have a new to my wife 2015 RX and there is no light for the shift indicator at the center console, nor at the Lexus emblem at the door threshold. Are these areas not lighted? On my 2004 both those areas have light bulbs. The shift indicator not being lit at night really bothers the wife.






UPDATE - Repaired. I followed the video similar to below and pull the center trim, I was able to find both a left and a right bulb with blue cover both burned out at the gear shift area. Replaced with just the bulb, no cover the wife like the brightness not soft light.. Thanks for the help, easier fix than I expected.

 

On the second-generation Lexus RX, illuminated Lexus emblems on the door jambs were often standard equipment or a very common option (at least my 2007 and 2008 Lexus RX400h, as well as my 2006 Toyota Harrier Hybrid from Japan, had these Lexus emblems illuminated).
But they don't light up on my 2014 Lexus RX 350. I don't know if this option is available for the third generation.

The light bulb in the shifter has burned out and needs to be replaced.

 

Reminds of the time I started driving manual trans vehicle. It became a non issue after I developed muscle memory and could tell by the feel (reach and angle)

Back to RX: That bothered me too, but the instrument cluster should have the same info. Convenient and right in front .. don't have to glance to right and downwards.

Here are oem illuminated front door plates from Lexus Boutique Japan, shipping is a couple hundred, might be available through a local JDM parts store at better price or less shipping cost, also check with Rancho Lexus Recyclers in Rancho Cordova NorCal, they may have a set of Lexus or 3RX F-Sport illuminated sills;

This following video shows how to remove the console cover which gives access to shifter light, mine is also burnt but I'll wait until I have a canbus led bulb replacement and will clean connections with electrical contact cleaner before reassembly;

 

It's not a cheap upgrade, especially considering the shipping costs.
Before ordering, I think you should make sure the wiring harness has connectors for the illuminated door sills.
If the dealership offered this option when you bought your new car, the connectors should be there.
