Hi everyone,

I have a 2015 Lexus RX350 and I’m dealing with a strange electrical issue.

I’m getting these codes:

• P0021 – Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced (Bank 2)
• C1280 – ECU Communication / Yaw Rate Sensor issue
• C1336 – Zero Point Calibration not learned

Symptoms:

• “Check AWD System”, “TRAC OFF”, CEL
• Sluggish acceleration
• When I do Zero Point Calibration, all errors disappear and the car drives perfect, but as soon as I restart the car, the errors come back immediately.

 

Those are random enough codes for unrelated stuff that I would first check for low battery voltage. A failing battery and low voltage will trigger many weird codes as they are very sensitive to low voltage.
How old is the 12 volt battery?
You need to get it tested!
