Default 2015 high beams

My 15 RX350 high beams are not LED and I want to look at converting to LED’s I found I want to hear about this in real world use?

I just used some very bright 9005 hyper yellow 65w halogen bulbs as my high beams in my 2015 Rx350 with HID low beam headlights and they work perfectly in bad weather conditions due to the extra contrast of the yellow light.

I assume that you could use some 9005 LED bulb upgrades as well that would be brighter than the stock halogen bulbs, however you may have a lot of glaring due to the RX350 reflector lens as opposed to projector lenses that would focus more of the additional light output for a better light pattern that would not blind everyone in front of you. Plus, I have noticed that bright white LED lights I have installed on other cars I have owned are terrible in bad weather as they tend to just cause road reflections in the rain and make it hard to see road lines and other details when the roads are wet. Yellow or amber colored high beam bulbs(halogen or LED)would be a better choice for safer driving in bad weather conditions like heavy rain at night.

Just my two cents.

Which brand of hyper yellow bulbs are working well for you, thinking of installing similar for snow and fog we get this time of year.

I installed the Hella brand of hyper yellow bulbs. The are still working 3 years later after installing them, however I rarely use high beams so they may last a very long time.

Thanks Carguy I'll pick up a set, Hella makes quality product. 15 RX uses same led fog lamps as 4runner with several bright offroad upgrades available.

Good to know as that I really dislike the useless bright white factory LED fog-light on my 2015. I may swap in a aftermarket yellow fog-light LED kit from a 4runner if available.

I see various brands of used 4runner and Tundra led offroad fog lights offered locally and on ebay but output is likely degraded. Rigid makes good lights with vertical adjustment case, from reading these fit 14 & 15 RX350; https://www.rigidindustries.com/14-t...o-sae-ylw.html
Local 4x4 shop like Offroad Warehouse will be helpful and may have sale lights as they move out old inventory.
Recently noticed a good amount of bright yellow driving lights on cars while night highway driving in Spain.
Morimoto Lighting of Atlanta may have promotions.

I have seen one car in the Atlanta area with yellow driving lights one night or maybe it had just yellow high beams like my RX350 which made it look fully yellow.

I know that many cars overseas use amber or yellow headlights/fog-lights for better visibility from my time stationed in Germany when I served in the Army many moons ago. Hence where I got the idea to use yellow high-beams and fog-lights on my cars over the years here in the states.

I went with some new Silvertars ultra. I improved the distance of the beam but still fairly yellow but it’s brighter than the other ones were.

In wet and foggy weather, H16 Osram Fog Breaker are a great help in fog lights (2014 RX350).
Good rich yellow light and color (not like cheap lamps). I use these bulbs in my fog lights, as well as standard high beams, and standard xenon bulbs in my low beams (but I want to replace them with OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER LASER D4S Next Generation bulbs because my car is tinted, and where there is no street lighting, the visibility from the factory bulbs is not satisfactory).
At night, I always use fog lights, regardless of the weather.

For dry weather, I would install Osram Night Breaker Laser halogen headlights in the high beams. They will provide a pleasant white light.
For rain and fog, the best choice is a yellow halogen, such as the Hella Optilux XY

Default Update

I have about a couple of months with the Silverstars Ultra and I am pretty satisfied with them. Look they are not as bright as the LED on my 22 Nautilus but they are brighter than the old ones were.

I noticed that our 2015 Lexus RX350 high beams weren’t as bright as they used to be. It reminded me that halogens dim over time. Our 9005 bulbs were the original OEM’s. After 10 years, no wonder they are fading.

I did a search on Amazon and ordered LED’s. I could not be happier. They are bright and I could see much better in the dark country roads. Ironically, the 1st night of having the LED’s, we saw a deer running across the street ahead of us. I owe it to the LED’s for allowing us to see better and avoided a terrible accident.

Don’t over think it. LED’s are the way to go. I replaced all our old cars with the LED’s and never regret it.
