I owe a 2015 Lexus RX 350 since 2017.

I ❤️ everything about it except the rear back up camera. It does not have parking grid lines. Even cheap cars have cameras with grid lines that help you to park.

Wishful thinking: is there a setting or something that I could mess around with to add the grid lines?

 

Yeah; so there's no way to add it...unless you really wanted to buy a cheap analog backup cam that has the gridlines built into the CMOS/sensor/whatever (most of the ~$8 ones on eBay do) and splice wire it in place. But it's probably not worth it.

 

Thanks. I will leave the camera alone and park the old school way. Turn my head and use my eyes.

 

Right decision. The yellow lines are not as important as compared to the blue [path based on steering]. And there is big disclaimer on solely relying on camera image.

Trick that I use is middle of the screen is approximately the middle of the vehicle. I track the joints on the driveway.
