Bought my wife a Lexus RX350 as a present for having our son. Her 36oz Yeti tumbler does not fit in the center console cup holder. This cup holder seems to suck, frankly.
In my Tacoma I use a cup holder adapter that fits my same Yeti but when I tried it in the RX is didn't work at all. The tray lid interferes plus the cup holder isn't round.
Does anyone have a link to an adapter that will work in the 3rd gen RX? I appreciate any help. Thanks!
Try removing the center section from the console cup holder and maybe there will be enough extra room for the Yeti. It lifts out so you can clean it.
Otherwise, I have not seen any posts about such devices. You could try searching using the box at the top right of the main page. Try cup + holder.
Thanks. I tried all that. The center part seems really flimsy and it's not adjustable. Even after I removed it the yeti doesn't fit it's too wide. I searched but I guess nobody else has had this problem. Hard for me to believe since Yetis are so common these days and I know that Amazon and eBay have a bunch of the adapters for other (round) cupholders.
I will keep looking but I was hoping someone here had figured it out already.
It is an old vehicle and when it was designed (circa 2008) there were not as many very large beverage holders.
Vehicle cup holders have evolved and improved a lot since then.
Just post a pic of whatever cup holder adapter you have in use holding a large 36oz cup in your RX350 please.
However that does seem like the perfect cup holder adapter to use in the 2010-2015 RX350 for larger tumblers. Please pic of it in use in your RX350 so that I can decide if really should buy one or not.
This is actually the same exact one I have in my Tacoma and when I tried it it did not fit. That said, I didn't realize/need the offset portion so I may try again by offsetting.

For others I will post pics if it works.
Get after it, make the wife happy!! I too, suggested a smaller cup, that did not fly. Sorry, no pics, its the wifes car, not mine!
Yeah the smaller cup is a no-go. She would need 2 cups or something it would just be ridiculous she guzzles water all day.
I used mine and offset it and I still couldn't get it to fit snugly or securely. The problem with this style is that it has 3 pads the extend from the base and all three pads have to be in contact with the wall of the cupholder in order for it to be stable and secure. I managed to sort of wedge it in towards the back but even jiggling it a little caused it to pop out so there's no way it's secure enough to hold a full 36oz Yeti. Also no matter how you twist it one of the pads is always pushing awkwardly on the door which doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
I went ahead and ordered a different style one that also offsets from Amazon so I will update this thread when it arrives with whether it actually fits or not.
At the end of the day these cupholders in our 3rd gen RXs are lousy it's basically a deep tray and they give you that flimsy insert piece that pops right out to "hold" the drinks when really it needs to be a proper set of round cupholders. It looks like from pictures they realized their error with the 4th gen.
IF the one I ordered doesn't work I may look into 3D printing and insert that will accept one of these offset rotating adapters.

So basically you do not actually have the adapter that you posted was installed in a RX350 and worked perfectly like you stated. You should have just stated that you found an adapter that "may" work instead of stating that it actually does which could cause a member to waste money on buying one.
You cannot take a pic of a cup holder in your wife's RX350; really.
