Default 2010 - Rear Hatch Solid Beep

Hello all, hopefully someone can help troubleshoot an issue with my rear hatch. When I press the button it emits a single long beep.

I tried the glovebox reset switch.

It also won’t unlock on its own. I had to pop the cover inside the car & manually slide the lock mechanism, then manually lift the gate.

help!

Check that the lock on the hatch and the receiver on the body are both securely bolted down and have not become loose. That happens over time and then hey will not engage properly.
Does it go up easily when you hit the buttons? Do the struts hold it up? How old are the hatch struts?

I believe they’re the original struts.

Appreciate the advice on the latch, I’ll check that it’s tightly attached & proceed from there.

Latch and everything is tight. No loose screws, bolts, or connections.

New struts. Still no dice.

I think it’s the lock mechanism. It doesn’t seem to be working at all. I can’t find a dedicated fuse, so replace that whole assembly?

Wish there was a way to diagnose with a code scanner.

There are 2 fuse boxes, one under the steering wheel area and one under the hood. Both have guides inside the covers. Have you tried lubricating it? From the photos in the eBay listing below it seem you could spray lube into parts of it which may help. Do not use WD40 as it is not a lubricant.

This is the hatch lock actuator that is probably worn out: https://www.ebay.com/itm/26704226770...3ABFBMupKdtNpk
