Default Amazon music and bluetooth

Just curious, is there any way to get Amazon Alexa music to work in a 2014 RX without the Amazon Auto attachment? I've used the auto attachment but found it too cumbersome and am using XM radio. I would prefer to use Amazon music so I can just tell it what I want to hear like I do at home.

Ignoring convenient interface [like car play], have you considered using your phone Bluetooth connection and some how pipe Amazon music through the phone. [I am IOS user person and iPhone user].

I've tried that but I can't seem to get it to work. I shows my phone connected under bluetooth but when I start music on my phone thru Amazon it does not come thru the speakers. Don't know if it's something I am doing or if it just doesn't work thru my phone- it's a Samsung/Android Auto

I don't really use Amazon Music but every app I've used on my iPhone plays audio via Bluetooth.

Are you sure you're checking to see that it's connected via Media and not just the phone? They're 2 separate connections.

Yep, that's what it was. I had everything set up correctly but I never realized after all these years that there is a 'media' button on the dash to switch from radio to media. Once I did that everything worked fine.

Lexus uses different channels/pipes for phone and audio(music). This has caused much confusion as "connection-setup" has to be done for both.

I like it as wife and I can have two phones and can have phone and audio connections from different sources.
