Default Problems getting Samsung 7 to play stored music

I have tried many times to get my S7 to play in my Lexus. The Bluetooth works great for the phone but continually says "Portable Player is not connected". Tried everything and also note that the AUX and USB folders are "greyed out"??? Can't even connect with the USB cable. Any suggestions?

It goes no further

AUX is known to go bad on those cars. If you have no USB connection and no AUX connection, either both are bad (?) or you have bad head unit. There's owner here that has AUX completely disconnected for some unknown reason. Bought used, of course.
As of streaming. Is your Audio Player connected to your phone? Did you do proper procedure and now have BT connection with phone and have Audio enabled on the phone? It can be very time taking to connect. Took me quite a few attempts not so long ago to connect mine. Including vehicle complete shut downs and restarts.

Thanks for replying. I was hoping to play the music I have downloaded for my phone using the Samsung Music app. I have an old Ipod that I'm eventually going to try and see if it can connect at all. The previous owner had an Ipod linked to the stereo system but I deleted it when I took possession of the vehicle. Not entirely sure what is meant by "Audio enabled on the phone". Not being very Samsung savvy I had just thought that successfully linking the phone to the Bluetooth was a huge achievement for me.. I only assumed that once the phone was linked via Bluetooth, everything related to the phone would sync with the car.

Just to be sure, are you actually connecting the phone to Car Multimedia? You must make this connection separately after you have connected the phone to the car for phone calls. It is a really cumbersome system...but after the set up, it seems to work decent

You have 2 BT devices, as recognized by infotainment unit.
1. phone. Then you can use BT connection for hands free phone calls.
2. audi oplayer. Then, you can stream music off your phone. Btw, Samsung music app sucks. Get jetaudio, much superior.
Hence, you need to do 2 independent pairings. One is to pair phone for hands free. 2nd one is to pair phone as audio player. When the last is done, you need to go to Settings>Bluetooth>Select your vehicle connection>check if it has both Calls and Audio checked as turned on. All in phone settings. On the phone, I mean.

Talking It WORKED!

Thank you so much for the advice. Even though I struggled a bit, I eventually got it to recognize my Audio Player. Much appreciated. )
