My son has a 2005 RX330. Sometime ago he either lost or misplaced the master key. Is there way I can get another key without paying a huge some of money to the dealer? Appreciate any help.
Thankyou
Maybe. It still won't be cheap but avoid the dealer and try a local automotive locksmith. Wasn't my car but a family's RX330, lost (then found long after) the only key which was the master. Lexus needs you to tow it there (on your dime) then it's $1200 to replace all the locks and reseed a new master. A local professional locksmith was able to cut a key using the key code and reseed it, $300 for one master and they came to us.
Looking to do this with a '99 ES300 would you recommend?
yes but u just have to be careful what seller u buy from because the key u buy might end up not working; yes there have been cases of this happening. A good seller on ebay i was directed to is 1010keys.
this reminds me; since i still only have 1 key for my second gen rx; at first big sum of money i get; i need to get a second one as i would hate to have my only key go bad.
well; it finally happened again; my one and only "master key" broke. The metal key itself broke out of the key shell. So i had to bite the bullet and buy a new key shell and blade as thats the only way they come. However; on the upside; the guy at the dealer parts counter was great!. He gave me a huge break on the price; and instead of just replacing the key shell with another standard shell which could break again down the road; he gave me a key shell called "eternity key". In that its made of a much much higher grade and thicker grade plastic that wont break no matter how hard its twisted etc. for the same price as the standard one. Normally the standard one is 65 bucks; and this eternity key is 100 bucks. But! he went above and beyond and took care of me.

You got a great deal -- the eternity key is the right answer for long term. Congrats.

there is no way for them to scan the pattern of your old key and they need a working master key to program a new key so unfortunately its going to be an expensive fix unless there is a way they can pull up the key blade pattern from another key you have to the vehicle.

Slimmer/sleeker than the OEM or Eternity key and available with some option colors. Reinforced with grade 5 Titanium and made by a fellow Lexus enthusiast.
So now I've lost my key to the car. The spare is snapped off and won't work! I am completely stranded, no joke. Is there anyway to get the snapped key to work or another alternative to paying $275 for a new one, which I don't have? Please tell me there is, I'm desperate!!! Thank you.
